RUNDU – The 44-year-old Johanna Kasiku Mbilisu from Kwaki Village in the Mpungu constituency, Kavango West region, died on Friday after being struck by lightning whilst bathing in her makeshift bathroom.
The heart-rending incident was reported to have happened at about 04h30. The police’s mortuary services were called in to collect the deceased’s remains, and transported it to the Nankudu Hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.
Last month, a similar incident occurred in Kavango West when a lightning strike also took the life of a Grade 9 learner of the Ntara Combined School.
It was alleged that the deceased was struck by lightning whilst he was walking to school, and died instantly. He was identified as Phillip Kazana Siranda, aged 21. He was residing at Muveve village, Kavango West, and was walking to Ntara village.
