The National Youth Council of Namibia and the National Youth Climate Action Network of Namibia (Youth4CAN) are hosting Namibia’s Second Local Conference of Youth and the inaugural National Youth Climate Change Summit from 11 to 13 July at Mercure Hotel in Windhoek.

The summit aims to bring together Namibian youth to deliberate on issues related to climate change and raise their demands through the development of Namibia’s National Youth Statement on Climate Change.

The conference and summit will take place with support from Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit Namibia Country office (GIZ), UNDP Namibia, the British High Commission Namibia and Triple Capital with full endorsement from the environment ministry and the United Nations’ Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Children and Youth Constituency Working Group.

Namibian youth who are motivated to represent their regions and contribute to Namibia’s climate action efforts are invited to apply to participate in this fully-funded summit by no later than 00h00 on 27 June 2023.

Participants should be between 18 and 35 years old with vibrant concerns about climate change.

They should be able to work with other youth members and reside in the region they would like to represent.
