The electricity supply to the office of the Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service at Khorixas that was disconnected by Cenored over over unpaid electricity bills resulting was recently reconnected.

Theresia #Goases of the Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service confirmed that the electricity was cut off due to unpaid bills, but said it was reconnected recently after the outstanding electricity bill was settled. The suspension of electricity resulted in the services offered by the office being disrupted.

The Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service offices at the northwestern town offers tailoring and computer classes and also runs a community garden for the youth interested in vegetable gardening.

“On the 25th of every month we send in our bill to the head office after it’s certified by me for the payment to be made, but I was informed there was a problem with the Ministry of Finance and thus the payment was not done on time,” #Goases explained.

This was not the first time the electricity supply to the ministry’s offices was disconnected, as this has already happened twice already this year and also last year.
