Course to help professionalize management of women’s football

Home Sports Course to help professionalize management of women’s football

Windhoek

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) Football House is to play host to the weeklong FIFA Member-Association Women’s Administration and Management Course starting Monday.
A total of thirty participants from the renowned Galz & Goals programme will be in attendance under the stewardship of instructor Emy Casaletti-Bwalya.
The course is aimed at professionalizing the management of women’s football at association level and according to the FIFA Women’s Football Survey 2014, there is still a lack of full-time employees dedicated to women’s football, especially at developing member associations.
This has a direct impact on the development of the sport with regard to the participants, the quantity and quality of projects as well as results. Therefore, FIFA is committed to helping member associations such as the NFA improve the knowledge and the education of their staff working in women’s football, whether at association, club or regional level.
The South African-based Casaletti Balwya is a FIFA MASP Marketing Consultant and instructor and in her 25 years plus marketing experience, she has worked in general management and executive levels for a large range of local and international sports organizations, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee, Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, Octagon Sports Marketing, Reebok, Kappa, Vodacom, Rothmans, Eskom and Coca Cola.
According to whoswho.co.za, Emy’s work incorporates all facets of marketing but her particular strengths lie in the development of brand strategy and positioning, sponsorship procurement, new product development, and business development strategy formulation.
Married to Zambian football legend Kalusha Bwalya, Emy is a Chartered Marketer and an Associations of Marketers member and a board member of the South African Football Museum as well as the Women and Men against Child Abuse organization.
The list of participants for the course are: Jackie Gertze, Lydia Hartzenberg, Immaculate Eigowas, Astrid Vries, Rachel Tjikurame, Nelson Nghiikumbu, Ronnellie Guriras, Melba Ketjinganda, Helvi Eliakim, Salome Iiyambo, VIncynthia Ndjoonduezu, Eveline Noreses, Monica Shapwa, Stacey Naris, Hansina Nunuhes, Werna Muronga, Bruna Golley, Ester Nghipanwa, Panduleni Petrus, Primrose Guriras, Florence Tjazerua, Tubaelihle Sibanda, Jane Naris, Beulah van Staden, E.
