The Roads Authority (RA) has officially embarked on an electronic notification system for all vehicle licence disk renewals and drivers’ licence renewal notices. The migration to an electronic notification system replaces the outdated postal notification with paperless notifications.
Thus, effective immediately, no renewal notices will be sent through postal services anymore.
Renewal notices are communications sent to clients, reminding them their vehicle licence disk fees are due soon or their driving licences are nearing the expiry date. These reminders are sent after billing renewals are generated on the system and before the payment due date.
In a statement, RA noted that going forward, all renewal notices will be sent via cellphone messaging (SMS) and email. Clients are, therefore, urged to visit their nearest Namibia Traffic Information System (NaTIS) office to request renewal notices and provide updated contact details (cellphone numbers and email addresses), subject to positive identification.
Clients who make use of the Online Licence Renewal platform do not need to visit the Registering Authorities (NaTIS), as their information is already updated on the system. Clients are also encouraged to register for the online renewal platform.
Corporate institutions, State-owned enterprises and ministries may request vehicle and driver renewal notices by emailing natishelpdesk@ra.org.na with positive identification of the company proxy or representative.
