Rally behind Swapo, NNN – Shaningwa

Rally behind Swapo, NNN – Shaningwa

IIPANDA – Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa has urged community members of the Ogongo constituency to rally behind Swapo and its presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Nditwah, in next week’s elections.

She made the call during a Swapo meeting at Iipanda village in the Ogongo district on Monday.
She said Nandi-Ndaitwah is a true, tested leader who fought in the liberation struggle, which was aimed at freeing Namibians and enjoying the peace they have today.

“We don’t want the Swapo Party to be buried by those who don’t want the party due to their personal hate, and allow the party’s history to be forgotten,” she said.

She added that Swapo should not be defeated, urging all party supporters to ensure they put their vote for the Swapo Party when they get to the ballot paper.
Shaningwa said they want those who will assist the elders with voting to be honest, and not to cheat their elders of their votes.

“Do not be fooled by those from opposition parties claiming they are coming to bring change in the country if voted into power. What change can they bring in a country already liberated by those who fought for the country’s liberation?” she questioned.

“Through the Swapo Party-led government, we have managed to ensure that we brought much-needed development, such as road infrastructure, schools, hospitals, housing and water in many parts of the country,” she added. “Do not be confused by those parties that were formed yesterday, and want to betray the country through gaining assistance from those that colonised the country,” she maintained.

At the same event, she welcomed back 15 members who re-joined the party from other parties.
Ogongo district coordinator for the party Leonard Nangolo also urged Namibians and the youth of Ogongo to vote for the Swapo Party and its candidate.
