The Recce Regiment won the Namibian Army’s shooting competition that was recently held at Otjiwarongo’s Jonas Shoongeleni Ndeimana shooting range in Otjozondjupa region.

The competition is an integral part of the army’s efforts to maintain operational readiness and promote a competitive spirit among its personnel.

It is aimed at enhancing individual technical skills in marksmanship and helps identify and nurture potential sharp shooters for future military competitions, both locally and internationally.

Participants were drawn from various formations and units of the army and vied in multiple shooting categories.

The competition’s winner was Recce Regiment, followed by the 26 Motorised Infantry Brigade, which took second place. The host Artillery Brigade secured third position.

The army commander, Major GeneralAktofelNdenguNambahu, highlighted the significance of the competition, emphasising that it showcased invaluable shooting skills, techniques, and talent.

“I believe that you have now learned that within the units, you share diverse knowledge and skills. You have also realised that teamwork is critical and a driving force toward achieving desired outcomes in specialised roles,” he told the participants.
