In what could easily be described as the best ever organized event on the Namibian sporting calendar, local riders were left green with envy as Botswana rider Ross Branch showed his Namibian counterparts a few tricks on two wheels.
Branch entered the Astra Cup race as a guest rider after curiosity got the better of him when news about a new motocross race track anchored halfway between Windhoek and Gobabis spilled over to the eastern border of Namibia.
The Botswana national could just not resist the challenge and finally proved that he was indeed what the good doctor had just ordered to put Namibian riders on a real test of character.
It turned out to be a memorable day for Branch – making it three out of three, grabbing maximum points in the process
Nevertheless, it was not just smooth sailing for Branch, with Tommi Gous taking the lead in the first heat before Branch sliced past him on the second lap but the chasing pair of Rainer Becker and Bj??????’??
