Windhoek
There is an old saying that good things come to those who wait and this definitely proved to be the case with Namibia’s much-travelled striker, Sadney Uri-Khob.
The stocky fast-galloping winger recently landed a lucrative deal with Thailand Premiership campaigners, Saraburi FC, for an undisclosed transfer fee and yet to be specified period. He joined as a free agent after his contract with Civics ran out at the end of June.
A regular member of the Brave Warriors, Uri-Khob, 23, is a journeyman in real football terms, having tried his luck with various professional clubs beyond Namibian borders in the past.
He was deemed surplus to requirement at the Kwazulu/Natal club and was subsequently offloaded at the beginning of last season, only to resurface at MTC Premiership side Civics, where he revitalised himself.
A genuine workaholic, Zittos, as Uri-Khob is affectionately known amongst his peers, slowly worked his way back to full fitness and was rewarded with a call-up to the Brave Warriors team.
The former Namibian youth international was a squad member in the victorious Warriors side that won the Regional COSAFA Senior Challenge in South Africa earlier this year.
A product of national team development structures, Uri-Khob started his football career in the elite league with boyhood team, FNB Orlando Pirates and had stints with Namib Colts and Ramblers before he found refuge with the Civilians.
