San Learner to Study in Canada

Home Archived San Learner to Study in Canada

By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK A golden opportunity has befallen a San-speaking Grade 10 learner at the Eldorado Project School in Khomasdal to further his secondary and tertiary education in Canada. Daniel Nxunxao Xhashe, a former learner of Junior Secondary School Epako in Gobabis, was encouraged by a teacher and successfully applied for a bursary through a local newspaper advertisement. The school on Friday formally bid Xhashe farewell. He departs next month for the Canadian city of Victoria where he will attend high school before proceeding to university to pursuit his dream of becoming a medical doctor. “We are very excited about Daniel’s achievement and are pleased with the sponsorship from the United World College in Canada. This is an opportunity that no learner in the world should miss,” said Alletta Eises, the principal of Eldorado Project School on Friday during the formal occasion of bidding farewell. The event was also attended by Aaron Claase, a representative of the deputy prime minister’s office.
