WINDHOEK– The Scripture Union Namibia (SUN) is hosting their annual high school ‘True Love Waits’ Valentine abstinences march on Saturday as the world, including Namibia celebrates Valentines Day.
The march is aimed at promoting sexual abstinence among children and youth, encourage positive values, life style and faithfulness in marriage through the message of Biblical sexual purity to the glory of God, and also to combat teenage pregnancy and HIV and AIDS. The march will start at eight O’clock in the morning ( 08H00) until half-past-ten (10:30) walking from the Namibian Police Station parking area (Opposite Thuringerhof Hotel in town) to Koi International Worship Centre (opposite the Windhoek High School) in Fiedel Castro Road.
Adam Nzuza, the event organiser says all secondary school learners, church youth groups and all who would like to be part of the march are welcome. “Together with school groups, youth groups and different other organisations wish to request the general public to come and witness this marching,” Nzuza invites.
The SUN is a national interdenominational movement striving to uplift the spiritual, moral and social standards of the youth through its Bible Clubs at primary and secondary schools as well as Life Skills Training workshops and camps on a regional and national basis. Nzuza adds that after the march the audience will be entertained by different performance by Gospel artists, hear poems from poets and a drama will be presented under the topic ‘True Love Waits.’ Those interested in being part of the march can contact Adam at 0812970598, Vikki at 0817204702 or Cecelia at the SU N office at Tell: 061-240541 during the office hours.
