WINDHOEK– The Miss High School Namibia Committee is calling on all the school going catwalk beauties to enter its beauty pageant before June 30 when entries close.

The beauty pageant aims to promote unity within secondary schools and to help the youth develop a mindset of social union and respect for women from young ages. By the request of the American High School pageant, this year’s beauty pageant will broadcast live on the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) TV  for them to view it from America via the internet. The committee will host a road campaign in some towns throughout all the regions during  July and August,  including  promoting the event, promoting the sponsors, giving hampers and sponsorship materials. “We see the need in encouraging young people to be more actively involved in society. We will be going nationwide [with an] advertisement campaign and we will be using methods like a parade. We are inviting various schools, choirs, dance groups, brass brands, and higher institution representatives and youth offices to join us in this parade as well.” says one of the committee members, Sylvi Nhinda, appealing for sponsorships to make the event a success.

Miss High School Namibia is the first project in Namibia to have a music label (CDs and videos), a documentary, a youth magazine, clothing line and talent scout Namibia as well as charity arm. Entry registration forms are available at all municipal youth offices, in Swakopmund at Mondesa Youth Opportunities, in Windhoek at the Namibia Hospitality Training Academy (NAHOTA) Training Academy near Katutura Pick n Pay.
Prospective entrants can also get the forms via email at misshighschoolnam@yahoo.com or by calling Sylvi at 0812575808 or Errol at 0813269941.
