A Seven-a-Side Football tournament for secondary schools will be hosted by Bank Windhoek at the Windhoek Show this month. The competition gets underway on the September 28 and ends on October 1, at the show grounds. In previous years, Bank Windhoek hosted a seven-a-side football tourney for farm workers working at the Live Stock Exhibition at the Windhoek Show.
However, it was resolved last year to expand the tourney and include secondary schools as well. Khomas High School walked away with the floating trophy in the schools’ league of the first Bank Windhoek Seven-a-Side Soccer Tourney for Schools, defeating Delta Secondary School in an action-packed match.
Secondary Schools that want to compete in the competition can enter their teams of ten players before September 14. Entrance is free and the winning team will walk away with N$10 000, while the runners up will receive N$8 000 in prize money. The team finishing 3rd will receive a consolation prize of N$5 000.
Matches will be played from Monday, 27 September 2014 to Thursday, 2.
