Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo has been re-appointed by
President Nangolo Mbumba for the next three years. Shikongo, who turned 60 this week’s appointment will lapse on 30 September 2027. It is effective 1 October 2024. Mbumba expressed confidence in Shikongo’s ability to execute his duties with professionalism and fairness as he implements programmes directed towards the fight against crime, transformation and modernisation of the Namibian Police Force.
