The National Media Team yesterday received brand new apparel from the Shoprite Group. The company’s head of human resources, Karen Smith, handed over the playing gear to the team coordinator, Jimmy July, at the company’s headquarters in Windhoek. The media team is the pride of current and former journalists, whose ideals are the fostering of relations and collaboration amongst the media fraternity since 2007. It achieves this through social interaction such as sport, whereby it travels extensively throughout the country and neighbouring countries to engage in friendly matches. The Shoprite Group has previously also supported the team through in-kind donations, while the Namibia Footballers Players Union (NAFPU) also came on board with a N$1 000 sponsorship.
The playing gear comes in handy as the team is scheduled to play this weekend in a four-team tournament with its Botswana counterparts, the Ministry of Veteran Affairs and the Kuisebmond Social Club at the NFA Technical Centre on Saturday.
