NKURENKURU – Eight homesteads at Katwitwi settlement in the Kavango West were destroyed during a storm on Wednesday.
Chief inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Namibian Police Force confirmed the incident that occurred at around 14h00 as
heavy rains accompanied by strong wind hit eight homesteads, leaving families without shelter.
Muronga further said some houses were flooded, documents destroyed, and all food items in the houses spoiled. Efforts are being made by the police to inform authorities to mobilise assistance for the affected families, said Muronga. -Nampa
