Stramis calls it a day at Civics

Home Archived Stramis calls it a day at Civics

WINDHOEK – Civics long serving team manager Paul Stramis resigned from his post last month saying he’s run the full circle as team manager and was looking forward to other challenges.

Stramis joined the Mighty Civilians in January 1997 as a treasurer and later doubled up as team manager  – replacing Titus Kunamwene who took up a position within the Namibian Football Association (NFA) the following season

He took a two-year break in 2000 but returned to the fold in October 2002 under the club’s new management headed by Helmuth Scharnowski. Stramis was installed as team manager, taking over the reins from Reggie Willemse and held that position until his surprise departure.

During his tenure with the Civilians, the likeable Stramis oversaw a triple of back-to-back league titles while he also received personal accolades for the best team manager of the year award on numerous occasions.

In his resignation letter, Stramis hinted that he would not be entirely lost to the domestic game and said he remains open to serve the club in any other capacity should the need arise.

In his parting shot, Stramis applauded the entire football fraternity including the NFA, NPL, coaches, former players, sponsors and the media.
