Sunshine ready for boxing bonanza

Home National Sunshine ready for boxing bonanza

International boxers that will partake in this weekend’s ‘Together as One Part-8’ Boxing Bonanza are all expected to arrive in Windhoek tomorrow.

Namibia’s renowned boxing promoter Nestor Tobias yesterday shared this information with New Era Sport, saying preparations for the bonanza have been going well.

“All systems are in place for the event. All our boxers are ready and waiting for Saturday to get into the ring to showcase what they have been preparing hard for. We expect all international boxers to arrive in the country on Wednesday, where they will be expected to have their face-off with the local guys. The weight-in will also be done upon their arrival,” said Tobias.

The much-anticipated event is set to take place at Windhoek’s Ramatex Hall, and will see Nigeria’s Taiwo Olowu challenge Namibia’s Charles Shinima for the WBO Africa welterweight title.

Ghana’s Delali Miledzi has been preparing to face Paulinus Ndjolonimus for the WBO Africa super middleweight title, while Zimbabwe’s Hassan Milanzi will square off against local star Mateus Heita for the WBO Africa super bantamweight title.

South Africa’s Sabelo Ngebinyana is coming to seek glory as he goes toe-to-toe against the unpredictable Fillipus Nghitumbwa for the WBO Global super bantamweight title.

Tobias added that they are looking at expanding the parking space to accommodate more fans.

“All logistics are in order; we have the venue secured and ready and we will be working from that venue starting Tuesday (today) onwards to ensure all is in place. We are expecting tight security, which will make it safe for all our fans to come and have a great time.”

General tickets cost N$50, while VIP tickets are going for N$500 and VVIP tables seating 10 people will cost N$20 000. Tickets are available at all Webtickets outlets at Pick & Pay stores countrywide.
