Reflecting on last weekend’s fixtures, FC Ongos Ladies coach Shama Gure said his team showed tremendous heart, discipline and commitment throughout a demanding season, adding that he was proud of how they carried themselves until the final whistle.
“Of course, as competitors, we always reflect on areas where we could have done better, but overall, I believe the team represented the badge, the supporters and the Ongos family with pride and dignity. Every player, technical team member and supporter contributed to this journey, and for that we are grateful,” he said.
Gure added that the season highlighted the growth of women’s football and the increasing competitiveness in the league, noting that the team will now focus on recovery, reflection, and returning stronger next season.
“Ongos remains a team built on unity, ambition and heart, and this is only the beginning of greater things to come,” said Gure.
The final round of the Super League will be played next weekend, with fixtures yet to be announced.
