Suspected Rehoboth killers arrested

Home Karas Suspected Rehoboth killers arrested

KEETMANSHOOP –  The 20-year-old Tommy De Groot and 21-year-old Zaine Khamann have appeared in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on Friday in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Herly Human on the December 8, 2013.

According to the head of the Namibian Police Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, the two were arrested last week Wednesday at their respective homes. Station Commander of the Rehoboth police station, Inspector Max Joodt, said the deceased was assaulted during a wedding at the Hermanus Community Hall.

“I cannot really say we knew from the beginning who the culprits were, but I advised the investigating officers to finish with the investigation and then to arrest the suspects. Then we would have a better case in court,” said Joodt.

Joodt also comforted Rehoboth residents saying his office will work harder than before, and that is one of the reasons the December festive season went by almost without any major incident.
