Swapo Party regional coordinator in //Kharas Region,
Matheus Mumbala, has called on party leaders to be active in their work at all times.
Addressing the Swapo Berseba district leaders at a leadership meeting held at the regional headquarters in Keetmanshoop on Saturday, Mumbala stressed the importance of being active leaders throughout the year and not only when there are conferences and meetings.
He reminded them as party leaders of their district that they can’t afford to go into sleep mode and just wait for things to happen but rather have to make things happen.
“We must be active so that we can achieve our goals during our term in office and remind ourselves of our duties,” noted Mumbala.
Mumbala reminded party members to frequently reacquaint themselves with the party’s constitution as it will help with reminding them of the rules and regulations of the party.
He urged them to keep records of all meetings they hold as lack of record keeping is a clear sign that nothing is being done by them in their respective sections and branches.
“This meeting today is to remind ourselves so that when we go back, we do our work vigorously and with determination,” Mumbala stressed.
The Swapo regional head pointed out that government is directed by Swapo and thus it is of paramount importance the party and its structures remain very strong.
Berseba district coordinator Petrus Witbooi outlined that the meeting was aimed solely at revisiting the achievements and failures in the past as regional and district leaders.
He emphasised that Swapo Party is run on three main fundamentals for which success is guaranteed – which are punctuality, commitment and professionalism.
Witbooi urged the leaders to represent the common interest of the people and guard against sloppy work as it portrays their level of professionalism and the institutional image within the party structures and leadership.
