Swartz gets TransNamib’s top executive job

TransNamib has announced the appointment of Kendall Swartz as its new Executive for Commercial and Marketing. 

Swartz previously served as the Commercial Director for Coca-Cola Namibia Bottling Company and brings a wealth of experience to the position. 

He has extensive experience in the local and international business environment with a very strong business acumen. Swartz also specialises in developing and executing channel and promotional plans along with short and long-term revenue growth strategies. 

Swartz holds a BBA Economics (four years with an emphasis on International Business) from Georgia Southern University, United States of America as well as a certificate in sales and marketing. 

Acting TransNamib Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Webster Gonzo welcomed Swartz to the ‘Rail It’ team: “The work of TransNamib over the next five years is crucial to the country’s efforts to establish Namibia as the preferred logistics hub in the region. TransNamib’s operations and strategic direction is aligned to Mr. Swartz’ previous experience leading an aggressive sales strategy and customer centric approach”. 

Gonzo added that Swartz will be tasked with overseeing the entire commercial aspect of TransNamib as well as identifying and driving key business development projects in order to substantially increase revenue and market share. 

“TransNamib and rail remains a key enabler of the economy and the transformation of the company into a sustainable organisation that adds value to our shareholder remains crucial in positioning Namibia as a logistics hub in the region,” said Gonzo.
