Swimmers give their best

WINDHOEK – More than 100 swimmers took part in the 5th edition of the Bank Windhoek Long Course Gala and the Aqua Pentathlon, held over the weekend at the Olympia swimming pool.

Despite the cold temperatures in and out of the water, competitors gave it their all.
The Friday gala was short and over in three hours, featuring mainly short contests such as the 50m swim.
Daniela Lindemeier was the top Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) ranker for her swim in the 50m breaststroke with 649 FINA points, followed by Zanré Oberholzer in 2nd place with 587 FINA points. Arthur Loftie-Eaton was ranked third for his swim in the 50m breaststroke with 550 points.
On Saturday, the aqua pentathlon started off with better weather and swimmers competed for first, second and third places.
