Besides aiming to revolutionise the domestic food delivery market, Green Enterprise Solution’s ‘Tap-A-Meal’ application is gearing up to expand its reach with hopes of eventually competing with global competitors.
Tap-A-Meal, a locally-developed food order and delivery app, was created by Green, and primarily serves Windhoek.
In an interview with New Era, Tap-A-Meal’s team leader Estelle van Wyk shared the vision and amazing impact of the app in the industry.
She described the app’s vision as catalytic, and believes it will revolutionise food delivery in Namibia by offering greater convenience and boosting restaurant exposure.
“Green Enterprise Solutions had already built the software, which allowed us to launch the app quickly, enabling users to browse menus, order from local restaurants, and get food delivered to their doorsteps. We saw an opportunity during the Covid-19 pandemic to help restaurants with home deliveries when dine-in options were restricted. The app is user-friendly, offering real-time order tracking, and secure in-app payments,” she said.
“A restaurant that used to sell its popular burger to 100 regular customers now has the potential to reach over 32 000 users on the platform, significantly increasing sale opportunities,” she hinted.
The app enables customers to place orders directly with the establishment, paying directly through the integrated payment portal, and their food is picked up when ready and delivered directly to their location.
It currently operates only in Windhoek. It hails over 32000 users, with the average customer ordering around 10 times a month.
Although the app faces stiff competition, Van Wyk remains adamant about expanding beyond Namibia’s borders.
