WINDHOEK – The PTA Tennis Series resumes this weekend after a month-long break.
The 3rd tourney of the season gets underway on Friday at 14h00 continuing Saturday at 08h00 on the tennis fields of Windhoek High School.
As so often in the past, there seems to be no stopping Codie van Schalkwyk in the Advanced group category. The defending champion won both opening events and if he keeps up his momentum, there is little doubt that the highly gifted youngster will secure his 2nd consecutive title come the end of the season.
There is, however, a bunch of other players that possess the skills needed to dethrone Codie with the likes of Oliver Diggle, Nguvi Hinda and Codies Brother Connor poised to pose a threat.
Meanwhile, Randel Kavandje is the hottest contender for the overall champion title in the Beginner’s category. He won the first two events of the season after putting in some strong performances.
In the Midi category, it will be a two-horse race between Adam Diggle and Beyonce Boois. The pair finished the 1st event on equal points, sharing the podium but Boois got the better of Diggle in the 2nd round to seal the win.
