Almost all African countries have now attained national independence and are sovereign states, but the struggle for economic independence continues.

Some countries that obtained independence in the early 1960s show no significant difference in economic prosperity with those who attained independence and sovereignty in the 1970s. Some of these countries are now 40 years old and yet are still struggling for economic independence, making people believe that economic independence takes decades to achieve.

What is wrong with the struggle for economic independence in Africa? Many countries found themselves in economic stagnation characterized by social challenges related to poverty amidst plenty, ignorance, hunger and disease.

Worst of all, in some countries, you find that there were irreconcilable political conflicts that ended up in civil wars, coups d’??????’??
