Three people died in two separate road accidents over the weekend in Oshikoto region.
According to the police crime report, two female passengers died on Saturday when the minibus they were travelling in overturned 10 kilometres towards Omuthiya, while 15 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
“It is alleged that the 34-year-old driver Paulus Kaufiilwa lost control of the vehicle at Omutsegwondjaba and overturned. He was driving in the direction of Oshivelo towards Omuthiya,” said the police.
The victims were identified as Lemisia Sheehamange (34), who died on the spot, while Natalia Mwatale succumbed to injuries at the Omuthiya hospital.
In an unrelated incident on Friday, a 31-year-old man from Iikokola village died on the spot after the Toyota Hilux pickup he was driving overturned and hit a palm tree.
The accident happened on the Onalulago-Epembe road in the Onayena constituency.
The victim was identified as Indongo Toivo.
