Tight contests in northern netball derbies

The country’s top-flight netball league Round 3 saw three matches played in the northern part of the country on Saturday.

Competing at Unam’s Ogongo campus, Young Stars NC and Rebels faced each other in the first match, with Rebels winning 41-36.

In the second match, Rebels faced Northern Fly Ballers and again won 44-36.

In the third match, Young Stars beat Northern Fly Ballers 39-34.

Speaking to this publication, Rebels’ owner Naftali Nangula said the games were not that easy, as both opponents gave them a run for their money.

He added good preparation had helped them.

“It was a great run over the weekend, winning all matches and collecting four points. It’s something we would like to see happening every weekend.  We are hoping that we can get the best out of the team,” he said.
