It is time again for Unam’s festival

WINDHOEK-The University of Namibia (Unam), is celebrating its annual cultural festival starting next Wednesday, September 25.

This year the festival will be hosted and celebrated under the theme, My culture, My heritage. 

According to the Unam Student Representative Council (SRC) President ,Nahas Angula Enkono, they are looking forward to a melting pot of cultures, where students and staff members of the university will be showcasing their cultural attires, food as well as cultural dances.

“On top of that, we are going to observe culture in diversity. There will be a display of different kinds of stands of different cultural backgrounds. This year’s cultural festival,  promise to be  bigger and a better festival that never hosted before in the university,” says Enkono.

However, Enkono adds that, they have certain of Namibian artists to perform at the event, and some will be announced soon.  Other  activities taking place from Wednesday include dance competitions, fashion show, a poetry session, and a gospel show. Other fun-filled events that are still scheduled are games, performances by local live bands, various traditional dance performances, and the crowing of 2013 Mr and Miss Unam next Saturday.
