WINDHOEK – Early this week TransNamib Holdings Ltd welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors namely, Regina Ndopu-Lubinda and Martha Hitenanye in a move that will have the blessing of gender activists.
“TransNamib is truly fortunate to welcome cadres of Ms Ndopu-Lubinda and Ms Hitenanye’s stature to the Board as new directors of TransNamib,
who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their new roles,” stated Festus Lameck, the Chairman of the TransNamib Board.
Ndopu-Lubinda served more than 17 years in the Public Service. She is currently the Chief Regional Officer of the Zambezi Regional Council. Previously, she was the Director of Decentralization Coordination in the Ministry of Regional and Local Government, Housing and Rural Development.
Ndopu-Lubinda is a graduate of the University of Namibia (Unam) with a Bachelor degree in Economics and Management Science, and holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration (UNAM/ Institute of Social, Netherlands).
Other qualifications include, an Executive Development Programme (Stellenbosch University); Leadership Development Programme (Stellenbosch); Certificate in Organisation Development Practice, awarded by Capacity for Organisation Development in Africa (CODA) in co-operation with Swiss Association for Applied Psychology (SAAP).
Hitenanye is a long serving employee in the Public Service since 1996, in the Office of the President. She currently holds the position of Senior Manager: Risk Management.
Hitenanye is a graduate of the Polytechnic of Namibia, where she obtained a National Diploma in Public Administration. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Technology in Public Management (Technikon South Africa); Bachelor of Technology Risk Management (UNISA); Executive Management Diploma Programme (University of Witwatersrand) and she has also completed course work for an MBA with the Management College of South Africa.
Hitenanye serves on other various boards, including being a member of the
Immigration Selection Board, the Windhoek Show Society, an Independent Member of the Tender Board of Namibia as well as the Atomic Energy Board.
The new directors replaced Mr Jerome Mouton, whose tenure ended in July 2013, and Ms Sara Naanda, who joined TransNamib as CEO in February 2013.
