RUNDU

Rundu became the third northern town to open a fully-fledged regional Trustco Group Office, after others were established at Katima Mulilo and Oshakati.

The new office became a reality last week Thursday, when Trustco Group Holdings opened its office doors for the first time to the people of the Kavango Region.

Officially opening the new office, Rundu Mayor Sabina Mufenda commended Trustco Group Holdings for taking a major step in bringing their services closer to the people in the region.

“Rundu residents can now enjoy the opportunity of having access to the very popular Legal Shield and Institute of Open Learning (IOL) products offered by the company,” said Mufenda.

As an internationally recognised company Trustco Group Holdings Limited started its Legal Shield office seven years ago with only three staff members. Now that number has increased to 75, while the Group itself has a total number of 400 employees to date.

The company is a force to be reckoned with as the Group’s programmes like Legal Shield, IOL and even the popular Winna Mariba Show are well supported and received by Namibians throughout the country.

“The Kavango Region can look forward to an exciting new service centre from Trustco, delivering quality service and advice to all,” added Mufenda.

In terms of education, students who are interested in the IOL educational programmes can also now enroll through Trustco.

This means current students and prospective students of the Institute for Open Learning can now enjoy career advice at first hand, thereby making education more accessible.

“This regional office will make available the IOL learning channel to all IOL students ensuring that the classroom is brought to their living room,” said Mufenda.

She urged Trustco Group Holdings to invest its social responsibility in developing Rundu into a flourishing business town.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director of Trustco Group Holdings (Ltd) Quinton van Rooyen said he was optimistic that through its services, the group would serve its wealth with the residents of Rundu as well as the entire Kavango Region.

This is especially a noble ideal in light of the fact that the company strives to reach out to the thousands of Namibians in remote parts of the country.

Giving a brief history of the company, Van Rooyen added that it is the third most marketed company in the country.

“Trustco is a Namibian listed company with more than 3 000 Namibian shareholders directly in Trustco. Thus, more than 3 000 share the direct wealth created by our corporates,” he added.

The new Trustco Regional Office in Rundu, situated in the town’s main road, is currently managed by seven staff members from the Kavango Region.

The launch was attended by various other dignitaries including the Governor of the Kavango Region John Thighuru, senior management of the Oshili Nawa Group, several regional councillors, high-ranking police officers and members of the public.
