OMARURU – Okahandja-based team Tuk-Tuk won the 4thedition of the Deon Hotto Charity Cup, which took place over the weekend in Omaruru.
They played Dynamos, a team from the Ovihitua settlement, in the final. The match after full-time ended in a stalemate, thus going over to penalties, which Tuk
Tuk won.
They bagged N$20 000 for their win, whereas runners-up Dynamos walked away with N$10 000. Semi-finalist OB 11 and Young Cosmos received N$4 000 each.
Dynamos player Salomon Shikukutu was
the player of the tournament, thus taking home N$500 and an Orlando Pirates replica t-shirt. Twenty-two teams registered for this year’s football tournament, with teams coming from as far as Mariental, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and nearby Omatjete.

Thereafter, the teams and the mayor went into the community to hand over food parcels, graciously sponsored by Namib Mills.
Chairperson of the Deon Hotto Foundation Carl Pesat thanked the community of Omaruru for turning up to watch the matches, as well as the sponsors SCORE and Topscore for making the tournament a success.
