WINDHOEK – Recently installed Tura Magic’s coach Timo Tjongarero has urged his wounded players to step up a gear when they play the much-improved Ramblers in their MTC Premiership clash at the Sam Nujoma Stadium tonight at 19h00.
Tjongarero was clearly disappointed with his team’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of African Stars in the semifinals of the lucrative Bidvest Cup at the same venue last weekend and expects an improved performance and drive in their bid to finish in the top four.
Tjongarero said: “I’m disappointed but things happen. It’s very important that we bounce back from our defeat against Stars and dig deeper to be lethal in front of goal and steal the three points at stake. Ramblers is a very good team and has been on a good run of late, wresting crucial points against both title contestants Black Africa and Orlando Pirates respectively.”
The former African Stars midfield anchorman is confident his team has what it takes to push for a top three finish with only three rounds of matches remaining before the curtain closes on the 2013/2014 MTC Premiership campaign.
His counterpart colleague Jorge da Purificacao is equally confident and believes his charges will have enough power to neutralize Tura Magic’s traditional quick passing game.
Rammies go into the match in buoyed mood after having collected maximum points against their mid-table cross-town rivals in the opening round.
