WINDHOEK- The Embassy of Turkey in Windhoek presents a photo exhibition by Turkish photographer Osman Nuri Yüce from September 8 at the Franco Namibia Cultural Centre (FNCC)’s  Restaurant La bonne.

This exhibition, depicting Turkey’s heritages and other prominent sites will be introducing the Namibian public to 13 prominent sites of Turkey that are registered under the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)’s World Heritage List. The sites are representing different layers of the Anatolian civilisation encompassing more than 10000 years of rich history, including Neolithic, Hellenistic, Roman, And Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods.

Being among the 20 founding countries of UNESCO, Turkey’s active participation in activities within UNESCO continues to loom large in Turkey’s cultural, educational and scientific external relations. The country has recently been re-elected to the UNESCO bodies of “Intergovernmental Committee of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage” and “World Heritage Committee”, for  2014-2018 and 2013-2017 respectively. The exhibition will run until October 11.
