Paragon Aviation Services has obtained a designation as an RA3 (third country regulated agent) by the United Kingdom Department of Transport, the company announced on Tuesday.
According to Paragon Investment Holdings’ executive director, Lazarus Jacobs, the certification comes after Paragon Aviation Services underwent a stringent security and safety validation process by the United Kingdom authorities, through a certified validator.
The RA3 designation is given to companies outside the UK that meet specific and stringent aviation security and safety requirements when providing airport ground handling services for shipping certain types of air cargo, dangerous goods and mail to and from the United Kingdom.
“Receiving RA3 status from the UK’s Department of Transport is not only a significant accomplishment for Paragon Aviation Services but a historic one. This certification allows Namibian and British shippers to send consignments to and from Namibia in a safe, secure and highly regulated environment. Paragon Aviation Services is extremely honoured by the confidence shown by the UK authorities in its ability to provide international standard cargo services, as articulated in its Aviation Security Plan,” Jacobs added.
Paragon Aviation Services received a similar certification from the European Union authorities last week.
