Home Archived Ulenga hurt in road accident

WINDHOEK – The Congress of Democrats (CoD) leader Ben Ulenga was involved in a road accident over the weekend. Ulenga sustained slight injuries in the accident on the Otjiwarongo-Okahandja road.

Ulenga, who is believed to have been travelling from the north, crashed into a stationary truck that was parked on the road after it suffered a  puncture.

Otjozondjupa Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Joseph Anghuwo confirmed the incident yesterday. Anghuwo said the opposition leader was not hospitalised, as the injuries were not serious.

He added that the accident occurred about 57 kilometres from Otjiwarongo at about two o’clock on Sunday morning. Ulenga allegedly saw too late the warning triangle placed near the truck and crashed into the back of the vehicle.  The CoD leader was the only occupant. Ulenga could not be reached for comment yesterday.
