STAMPRIET – An unborn baby was killed while three  people were seriously injured in yet another incident of carnage on the country’s roads.

The gruesome road accident happened between Stampriet and Mariental on Saturday.

Two pick-ups, one carrying 13 passengers, including a highly pregnant woman, collided head-on about 30 kilometers outside Stampriet.

Three people were seriously injured and the woman suffered an intra-uterine on the spot.

The sole passenger in the other light pick-up was also seriously injured and had to be transported to Windhoek for advanced medical treatment.

Police officers at the scene confirmed to New Era that three people were seriously injured while others were only treated for slight injuries.
