By Kuvee Kangueehi WINDHOEK NAMIBIA stunningly recorded their second victory at the Vodacom Cosafa Under 20 Youth Championship under way in Durban. The Young Warriors beat Malawi 2-1 to keep alive their hopes of progressing to the next group of the youth competition. Namibia came back strongly in the second half after trailing by a single goal at halftime. Whatever Bobby Samaria said to his players seemed to do the trick and Etienne Beukes scored his second goal of the competition, levelling matters. Malawi, who lost to Angola in their first match could not avoid defeat when Tigers playmaker Letu Shatumwene scored late in the second half to ensure Namibia’s victory. Namibia now face their toughest and last group game against Angola who have been impressive the entire tournament. Angola won all its three opening matches and is now topping the group. The northern neighbours beat Madagascar by a single goal to keep control of Group C. A victory against Angola tomorrow will not guarantee progress to the next round for Namibia as goal differences will count. Namibia conceded eight goals against Madagascar in the opening match. Meanwhile, Safanet reports that Thulani Maseko kept the Amajita’s chances of successfully defending their Vodacom Cosafa Under 20 Youth Championship title on course, by finding the back of the Mozambican goal net in the first half during their Group C fixture at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, near Durban on Monday. While the Amajita coach Styles Phumo will be delighted with the 1-0 win over their African neighbours, several home team players will be nursing several niggling injuries after the bruising encounter played in front of a large crowd. Phumo will be concerned about the state of health of talented Jabulani Mthombeni who was rushed to hospital at the halftime break, as a precautionary measure, after bleeding from his head after being involved in a clash of heads with a Mozambican defender. Mozambican goalkeeper Machaisse Jasimar was in excellent form, and did well to prevent an Amajita long range shot from going into the net, but could not stop Maseko from side footing home the rebound.
