EENHANA – Beauty Kamushidulu, a self declared and firm believer in girl empowerment wants to make significant contribution towards empowering the girl child in the Ohangwena region starting in her own Oshikunde Constituency. “Winning this pageant is a big deal for me at this smaller stage as I get to be pioneer for young girls across the Ohangwena region, especially from schools. I want to be someone, a young lady they could look up to and if I can empower them through various regional programmes, that will be the ultimate prize,” she says.
A Grade Eeleven learner, Beauty (17) has been crowned Miss Valentine 2015 of the Dr Abraham Iyambo Senior Secondary School following a glittering event at the school in Oshikunde constituency on Saturday. The Abraham Iyambo Senior Secondary School’s 2015 Valentine’s Day was organized by Hilma Mbango, a Secretary at the school who was immensely impressed at how the event turned out. “It took a wonderful team to make this event a success and we could not have done it without the support of different business communities and other stakeholders in general. The pageant was meant to instill positive experiences that will in the end stimulate intellectual and moral growth in the girl child and I am confident we have achieved that,” she says.
The grand finale was judged by a galaxy of Ohangwena personalities including Miss Eenhana Expo and Trade Fair 2013, Saiya Maiyah Sartiel among others. Nestor Flybek and his back up, S4SHOO, a kwaito group, entertained the guests.
