Villager finds half-naked decomposing body

The half-naked body of an unknown woman was discovered on Sunday around 18h00 in the bushes in Omushii village, in the Omusati region. According to the police, it is alleged that an unknown suspect killed the victim with an unknown object and hid her body in the bushes.

There are also suspicions that the deceased might have been sexually violated. An old man who was looking for his donkeys in the field found the half naked decomposing body. The deceased is a woman suspected to be in her late 20s or early 30s. She is not yet identified.

The deceased was wearing an orange top with some print detail on the chest, black leggings, black open shoes (size five), long navy-blue socks and a red headband. The body was taken to the Okahao police mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Police have appealed to the public who are missing a relative, friend or acquaintance in the Omusati region or anywhere in the country, to contact chief inspector Mwanyangapo on 0814554445 or sergeant Kashinyenga on 0812453825 or any nearest police station to help identify the victim. They also need any information that can aid police investigations and the apprehension of the perpetrator of the crime.
