The Artist Taste and Restaurant will be the place to be tomorrow as this year’s What if Hip/Hop and sex fashion sessions kicks off.
The sessions, which will be accompanied by a fashion show by Maila couture, will be filed with performances by local Hip/Hop stars like Brooklyn, Lioness, Hilifa, Raymond,KB, Becky, Melissa, Ghetto Mallerina, Obie and New Breedz. The sessions are a brain child of Hip/Hop sensation, Neptune Black, to give underground and unnoticed artists a platform to showcase their talents to a wide audience. “I started the ‘What If’ with the aim of growing a local culture with indigenous sounds and tradition, and hopefully spread the same idea to fellow works men. The sessions are interesting because of [their] diversity in art. We infuse portrait art, live band and fashion in our music giving the audience [a] wider variety [to] choose from,” says Black.
Black adds that he aims to be consistent with the sessions. “I want it on a monthly basis as we have been doing since March 2014 when we had our first gig. Basically we just want to achieve a permanent fan base for the sessions and fit more local sponsors and brands to jump on and push local talent in all traits,” he says. The event starts at 18h00 at the Artist Taste Restaurant (The old Garlic and Flowers) behind the NTN. Entrance is N$80.
