Woman arrested for suspected abortion at Kahenge

NKURENKURU – The Namibian Police Force in the Kavango West region have opened a case against a 32-year-old woman after she reportedly terminated her five-month pregnancy at Kahenge village on Monday.
Namibian Police Force chief inspector Raimbert Muronga on Tuesday said the incident occurred around 02h00 when the suspect allegedly used an unknown substance to terminate the pregnancy.

It is further alleged that the suspect thereafter wrapped the foetus in a plastic, and threw it in the rubbish bin.
“The suspect is currently admitted to the Nkurenkuru Intermediate Hospital in a stable condition under the police guard,” said Muronga.
Police investigations into the matter continue. -Nampa
