RUNDU – A 41-year-old woman was threatened with death and raped at Ndama in Rundu at the weekend.
An unknown suspect allegedly found the woman walking in Ndama location on Saturday after 02h00 and threatened to kill her and raped her.
The woman opened a case of rape at the police charge office.
The suspect, who is still at large, is unknown to the victim, as she could not identify him since it was dark.
Police spokesman Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo of the Namibian Police in Rundu confirmed the case.
“We are busy investigating the case. If anybody has some information regarding this case or any other case please give us a hint and we will take it from there. By working with the police, we can make our community a safe haven for our women and girls who are falling victims to this cruel act,” Mubebo said.
In another case that happened at Ndama location on Saturday at Nangombwe Bar, a woman of unknown age, sustained an open wound after she was assaulted by a male suspect at the shebeen.
