ONGWEDIVA – A woman was discovered dead in a mahangu field in yet another suspected passion killing.
Police in the Omusati Region made the gruesome discovery of her corpse on Friday night at about 21h00 at Oshihawu, a village in the Onesi constituency.
According to police Martha Dishane (30) and her boyfriend and father of her 4-year-old son Paulus Iita Kaondi (28) had an argument while she was visiting him at the homestead where he lives with his mother.
The two went into the mahangu field where they continued fighting, while it is not known what the argument was all about, it is alleged Kaondi took out a knife which he had on him and began stabbing Dishane.
Dishane who died on the spot suffered 18 stab wounds to the stomach, back, neck, left ear and left arm.
Kaondi who turned himself in at the Onesi police station is in police custody at the Outapi police station where he was charged with the murder and is set to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court today.
