YO! and MultiChoice Namibia empower young entrepreneurs

The Youth Opportunity (YO!) Pillar through the One Economy Foundation, in partnership with MultiChoice Namibia, recently hosted a one-day Content Creation and Social Media Masterclass for 30 youth micro-entrepreneurs in Windhoek.

Held under the theme “Passion to Pixels to Profit”, the masterclass aimed to equip young entrepreneurs with practical digital skills to build strong online brands and earn sustainable income in Namibia’s growing digital economy.

The full-day session focused on areas such as digital content strategy, storytelling, branding, and platform monetisation. Participants received hands-on training designed to turn creativity into business opportunities.

Chief Creative Officer at Beso Media, Betty Sibeso, said the best way for a founder to show up online is to be as authentic as the solutions they offer.

Sibeso focused on content strategies as the foundation of the content you post.

“Content strategies include themes, captions, goals, target audience and more. She noted that without a content strategy, you’re just posting and hoping something sticks. With a strategy, you’re building with purpose, consistency and clarity,” she said.

Founder of Facilit8 Namibia Nrupesh Soni, introduced AI-powered tools that help entrepreneurs save time while maintaining quality. He said that choosing the right platform depends on your business type and where your specific customers spend their time online. He noted that many Namibian businesses find success by placing focus on two to three platforms rather than spreading their efforts across all platforms.

He also shared user-friendly platforms to help entrepreneurs plan and schedule content. These include apps like Buffer, Later, Meta Suite and Crowdfire. Another key aspect for entrepreneurs to understand is their social media analytics.

Soni shared free analytics tools to help participants track performance without stretching their budget. These include Google Trends, Social Blade and Meta Business Suite.
