Windhoek

Over 200 children from the Frans Indongo Primary School in Babylon residential  area of Katutura had something to eat last week thanks to Miss Youth 2015, Suoma Nuunyango supported by the National Youth Council and Joe’s Beer House.

Suoma has been involved in charity work since winning the title.“Feeding this kids get me so excited. The compassion I have for people and actually getting to experience it by making a little difference, means so much to me. I want to do this more and with my title it makes it easier,” says she.  Last month Suoma carried out her first responsibility by visiting cancer patients at the Windhoek Central Hospital brightened their day by engaging them in arts and crafts activities. “This is just the beginning as I will be doing as much I can during my time. Sometimes you don’t have to do too much, something small to you can be something big to another person.” she says.

During her reign, Miss Youth is required to be involved in community-based programmes, represent NYC and raise funds for worthy causes. The Miss Youth beauty pageant is the brainchild of NYC with the aim to identify a young woman who will serve as an ambassador for it  and to encourage young women endowed with beauty to make use of this gift and any talents they have for a worthy cause.
