The Lüderitz Corporate Youth collected N$980 to buy spectacles for a Grade 5 learner attending school in the town.
Lüderitz Corporate Youth is a group of upcoming youths who lend a
helping hand to communities that are vulnerable and poor.

The regional council was approached in their efforts to collect money to assist John Shiweda, a Grade 5 learner at Helen Van Rhijn Primary School. He struggles with his eyesight and urgently needed glasses.

The group collected N$980 and paid it to Windhoek Optics for the glasses of Shiweda, who received his glasses at the !Nami#nus Constituency office early this week.

His mother Monika Davids was overjoyed, with tears welling in her eyes and applauded the youth group through the constituency office for helping her son so that he can use the spectacles to study hard and fulfill his dreams.

Constituency councilor Jan Scholtz, encouraged the youth group to persevere with their charity work in the community.

The group assists many people at the town.
