KATIMA MULILO – The longstanding problem of lack of transport in Zambezi Region, one of the major factors hampering operations of the local education directorate, has been solved with about 19 sedans and pick-up vehicles received by the regional directorate recently. The lack of transport in the education directorate has affected logistics in the vast region of Zambezi with schools that are sparsely located and mostly located in rough terrain.

Receiving the new fleet of vehicles last week, Regional Education Director Austin Samupwa who was flanked by the regional education directors of //Karas and Omaheke regions, was visibly relieved that operations would once again return to normal. “We are quite happy that today we receive a new fleet of vehicles. We will be able to perform our duties with much ease now,” said Samupwa.

The education ministry rented vehicles from PC Centre that were said to lack the requirements for the Zambezi Region’s terrain. The new fleet of vehicles for the directorate is rented from Avis.
