MAJOR renovations are underway at the Novel Motor Company to upgrade the existing Ford/Mazda workshop, the parts department and staff facilities, which is a three-phase project costing N$10-million.
Building on the premises with the first phase of the project, commenced early October, 2013, and is estimated to be completed by November 2014.
Speaking to Ricardo Raposo (MD Novel Motor Company) he confirmed that the construction was already underway on expanding the Ford/Mazda workshop which will ultimately accommodate more vehicles and offer customers a better service. In addition they will be improving the status quo of the parts department for all their brands, upgrade their wash bay and establishing improved staff change room facilities.
Ford/Mazda Workshop Manager Johan Steenkamp said that the workshop will be extended almost double its current size, and will be equipped to increase the customer output and offer a shorter booking period. High ceilings, open plan layout, high tech equipment and a total of 19 working bays are going to turn the current facility into a flagship workshop facility for the Ford/Mazda brand.
The new parts department with modernised reception and receiving area will accommodate the spare parts of the Novel Motor Company’s multi dealer brands, namely Ford, Mazda, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo.
Management of Novel Motor Company has meanwhile apologised to the public for any inconvenience caused during the upgrading of the premises. They say it is part of the company’s on-going efforts to improve their facilities and advance customer service.
