WINDHOEK – After a sluggish start to their league campaign by their own standards, reigning Namibian champions Black Africa Football Club, will face a stern test of character when they come up against Civics in the 2nd of a MTC premiership double header at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek tonight at 21h00.
Fresh from a resounding victory in the 3rd round last weekend, the charges of Brian Isaacs will go into the tie with their tails held up, but the Gemengde-based outfit will be better advised to underestimate their cross town opponents at their own peril. The Civilians had the better of the proceedings in the corresponding fixture last term and Black Africa will no doubt be out to correct matters and avenge that defeat. FNB Orlando Pirates confront Ramblers in the first of a double header in other action tonight in an encounter that promises to be a real humdinger with teams counting good wins in their last league outings against formidable opponents.
While the Tunschell Street Boys turned the screws in their convincing 4-2 triumph over visiting Eleven Arrows, the same cannot be said about the Ghosts, who struggled dismally to get out of first gear as they scrambled to an unconvincing 1-0 win against a ten man Tura Magic. In tomorrow’s action – the team of the moment – Tigers FC are at sea level in what promises to be a mouth watering clash of the titans against unpredictable Eleven Arrows at the Kuisebmund Stadium in Walvis Bay at 13h00. The eagerly awaited coastal derby between LHU Blue Waters and the fast improving PC Blue Boys follows afterwards.
Basement dwellers Rundu Chiefs will be determined to pick up their first maximum points in the current campaign when they play host to giant slaying Tura Magic at the Rundu Sports Stadium. Ambitious Katutura glamour football club African Stars should have little trouble in collecting the maximum points at stake against the league’s new boys United Stars at the Sam Nujoma Stadium. Unless otherwise stated, all matches start at 16h00.
